A Greenhouse Lunch Date | Spring Inspiration
It’s beginning to be that time of year again… When I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible… While the weather is warmer, the landscape around us begins to explode with green and life, and I am reminded of why I absolutely love living in Northern Michigan.
One thing I know I’ll be doing in these warmer months is spending more time in the greenhouse. With the greenhouse being a functional space to grow plants, it wasn’t really designed with much space to hang out. We brought a couple chairs in and out of this space last summer, but I really wanted something that would allow us to have a meal in there and hang out if we wanted to. A few months ago, in the dead of winter, I was craving that warm weather and greenhouse time and I ordered this adorable little bistro table and chairs set. It is the perfect size for our little greenhouse and garden area, and although we aren’t totally into warm summery weather yet, we’ve already been enjoying it as much as possible. It’s the perfect spot for morning coffee, a date night in, or even a romantic lunch date.
I had the opportunity to setup lunch in this space for the first time this past week, and I have to say, I’m totally in love with greenhouse dates and meals now. I’d have all my meals out there if I could… but you know.. kids. lol.
I put together a small charcuterie board with yummy cheese, meats, crackers, and more and a couple glasses of wine and I brought out some fresh baby’s breath and a couple candles to dress up the table ever so slightly, and that was all I needed to create this dreamy little lunch date.
Setting up a backyard picnic or a little patio lunch date with flowers and candles might seem silly or cheesy, but it’s in these beautiful little moments, the moments that are a little extra, that I feel extra blessed. It doesn’t have to be well planned out or cost a lot (or anything at all… I just used things I had on hand), but it can make for a special memory, adding to the beauty of your own life story. Don’t be afraid to do a little extra, to make special little memories, whether with your friends, a loved one, or even just for yourself. <3
