Summer 2023 at Charming North | Shop Tour
Summer in Northern Michigan… it really is something special! For Cadillac, summer means the big return of tourists, summer cabin and cottage residents, expanded outdoor activities, extended summer hours at local shops and restaurants and so much more! The Northern Michigan summer vibe is like nothing else. It’s a time to slow down and relax but also pack in all the fun outdoor activities and visit all the coolest places. A time to get out and enjoy the gorgeous scenery, whether it’s the numerous inland lakes, the Lake Michigan beaches and views, the rolling hills, the sand dunes, a country road, or the miles and miles of forest spread throughout. For Charming North, it also means the shop is full with extra inventory, fun treasures, busy days, beautiful weather with the doors propped open, and visiting with people from all over the country, and sometimes from around the world. It’s a time when we get to show off the beautiful region we are blessed to call home and bring a bit of those vibes into the shop through local art, clothing, home décor, and more. With such a wide variety of merchandise in various different categories, we have a lot of fun curating collections of all of our favorite things.
If you’re not so familiar with the shop, we offer numerous categories including men’s and women’s clothing, suit and tuxedo rentals, men’s and women’s shoes, jewelry, accessories, home décor and furnishings, housewares, furniture paint, local artwork, locally made goods, gifts, a mix of vintage and antiques, and more. It’s a large boutique, expanding across two units and about 6,000 sq. ft., right in the heart of Downtown Cadillac. The shop is often changing, with new inventory seasonally and everchanging displays. The two sides bring two vibes, one bright and airy and the other dark and masculine, both sides with a focus on local history and a classic vintage vibe, creating a one of a kind experience with an old fashioned feel. Vintage advertisements and displays add to the classic feel, and between the vintage displays and the huge variety of items, there’s so much to look at and you could pass through the store several times, spotting new items each time. For the Home
At Charming North, we offer curated collections of new, vintage, and vintage inspired goods for the home. You’ll find refinished and repurposed furniture, classic styles of furnishings and décor, fun statement pieces, vintage collectibles, and timeless housewares. With a mix of modern and vintage and a focus and on classic and neutral, most of our pieces are very versatile and could fit into many different decorating styles. We even offer Fusion Mineral Paint, a really great furniture/craft paint line, so that you can customize your own pieces to suit your style. In store, you’ll find beautiful options for dishes and kitchen wares, pillows, throw blankets, area rugs, furniture, lighting, wall art, shelf décor, and much much more.
Menswear
We offer a variety of men’s casualwear, which is updated and added to seasonally. With new styles and classic staples, we do our best to keep our inventory stocked up to suit your needs. You can also find an even larger selection of men’s formal and professional wear as well as options for suit and tuxedo rentals, quality shoes, accessories, and more.
Women’s Clothing
Our women’s clothing collections, much like the rest of the store, are inspired by the mixing of new and vintage. While many pieces are vintage inspired, all of the clothing we offer is new. We have several options of fun, flirty, and vintage inspired as well as a nice variety of clean, classic, and a touch of modern. Whether you’re looking for something comfy, casual, professional, or even dressy, we have options for you. You’ll find a mix of simple solids, classic prints like florals and stripes, muted tones, pops of color, comfy casualwear, and several pieces that are both timeless and for any age.
