August 19th, 2024 Update
Update:
Ted’s CT scan this morning showed slight improvement on all tumor masses from the April CT scan. (The June scan was a PET scan and showed stable but no change). We are thanking God for improvement!
The oncologist still does not believe it’s enough improvement for surgery, but she’s going to present it to the tumor board anyway. In her opinion, there are still too many tumors to safely operate without missing some and causing it to spread more quickly.
Ted has been chosen for a spot in a promising clinical trial for DSRCT and as of today he accepted this spot. They canceled the rest of this treatment plan that he’s been on (which only had a few treatments left), including this week’s treatment, as he has to be clear of any past chemo in order to start this new clinical drug. He has to have some testing done and will likely start this new treatment in 2-3 weeks. We are counting these all blessings! Thank you, God!! And thank you all for all the prayers! They were felt, heard, and answered!
Now we pray that these next couple weeks go smoothly being off chemo for so long, that this new treatment plan shrinks the tumors significantly enough for surgery, for minimal and minor to no side effects for Ted, and for overall and complete healing! I pray so hard for our lives to be normal again someday… it’s been the hardest year ever… we are praying this is a big step in the right direction! Please please please, God.
As for scheduling at the store, starting in September, it may look a little different, as this treatment plan has a different schedule than what he’s been on. I’ll update on that when we know more. For now, the August calendar still stands as it is. Thank you all for your patience as we navigate everything.
