Hello and welcome to Charming North! Thank you for stopping by! I’m Ashley. I’m a child of God, a mother of four, an interior designer and decorator, a photographer, an old soul, and a creative through and through. I love coffee, flowers, holding butterflies, going on adventures, making memories with loved ones, beautiful views, traveling, finding and collecting unique vintage pieces and antiques, and taking way too many pictures.
I love decorating in a meaningful way, using unique found and collected pieces that are both beautiful and functional. I believe that home should tell a story that reflects who you are and the things you love, that’s both beautiful and functional, while also being comfortable, and that honors the story of you and your family.
The Charming North blog, which launched in the fall of 2017, began as my creative outlet to share ideas, creations, inspiration, and things that I love.
Charming North later also launched as a home décor and furnishings shop in April 2019 and expanded to include men’s and women’s clothing in January 2022. The shop was owned and operated by my husband, Ted, and I with our four children by our side. Sadly, the shop permanently closed in April of 2025 after a devastating diagnosis for Ted. Our beloved husband and father, Ted, went home to be with our Lord and Savior in December of 2025 after a courageous and hard-fought two-year cancer battle. He will forever be in our hearts.
Follow along as I return to my original vision for Charming North, as a creative outlet where I share ideas, visions, and inspiration while I also pave my new way forward, making the best of the life I’ve been given and seeking the positive and beauty in every day.
