10 Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching (just over a week away), and some of you may still be searching for the perfect gift idea for your mom, wife, grandma, or other special mom in your life. I can’t speak for all moms, but I do have a few fun ideas to hopefully inspire you on your search! Here are 10 Mother’s Day gift ideas for the special moms in your life!

1.) Jewelry- I know what you’re going to say… jewelry for Mother’s Day is so cliche! But listen… It doesn’t have to be! Choosing jewelry that is unique or personalized can be one of the best gift ideas for Mom! I can tell you that some of these great pieces are on my Mom’s Day wish list! 😉

Tiny Tags offers some of the cutest personalized jewelry that any mom would love to open on Mother’s Day! Most of you know that I love my leather jewelry from Two Copper Sparrows! She has come out with some super pretty floral leather earrings just in time for Mother’s Day! Check out all her gorgeous leather goods while you’re there! Orders for Mother’s Day delivery must be placed by Tuesday May 8th for first class shipping. If you’re local to Grand Rapids area, stop into Full Circle Design Studio in Rockford, Michigan to check out her items in person!

2.) Family Portrait Session- Buy Mom a photo session for family portraits! Family portraits are important to me as a mom and sometimes we can go too long between family photos. By purchasing Mom a photo shoot, you’re showing her that you, too, care about getting these special photos. If you’re planning for a large multi-family photo shoot, this is a great group gift that you can all go in on. To go one step further, team up with Dad (if he knows Mom’s schedule) and the rest of the family and coordinate with each other on a date that would work for all of you so that the stress of planning is taken away and Mom doesn’t have to worry about that part.

3.) Pamper Her- Give Mom a gift of pampering! You could get her a gift certificate for a massage, to get her hair done, or to get her nails done. Whether she gets these things done regularly or normally wouldn’t splurge on herself like that, it will be a nice treat for her. If the special mom in your life has littles, consider coordinating with her to watch the kiddos while she gets pampered!

4.) DIY a Gift- If you are the crafty or artistic type, you could always give mom a homemade gift. If you are good at painting, you could gift her a beautiful original artwork. More into crafting? Try your hand at crafting a homemade spring or summer wreath for her front door or a homemade frame to hang her new family photo in. 😉 Pinterest is full of adorable and sweet DIY gift ideas for Mom! A DIY gift is a great idea for the kiddos to craft something with love for Mom themselves! Even if you’ve already purchased a gift for Mom, a heartfelt homemade gift is always a sweet addition for her to open on Mother’s Day!

5.) A Basket of Her Favorites- Put together a basket of Mom’s favorite things! Favorite candies, coffees, a bottle of her favorite wine, or whatever it is that Mom loves! For example, does she like coffee? Buy her a cute coffee mug, a bag of her favorite coffee, a fun french press, and some coffee syrups to try. She’ll appreciate that you paid attention and put together some of her favorite things for her to enjoy!

6.) Gift Certificate- Hear me out here… Gift certificates can seem tacky, but if the special mom in your life likes to shop, you really can’t go wrong with a gift certificate to her favorite store! If Mom is a coffee fanatic, consider a gift card to her favorite coffee shop. If you truly put thought into this and choose a gift card to a place that Mom loves, trust me, she’ll appreciate it! If you watch her kids while she goes out to enjoy the gift card, she’ll love you even more! 😉

7.) A Fun Mom Shirt- Mom shirts seem to be the trend right now, and personally, I’m loving them! “Blessed Mama” and “Mama Bear” shirts are definitely on my wish list!

Love Blooms Here offers some really cute mom and grandmother shirts, such as “Blessed Mama”, “Blessed Nana”, “Blessed Grammy”, “Blessed Grandma”, and more; offering the best variety of grandma names I’ve seen.

You’ve probably seen “Mama Bear” shirts by Loved By Hannah and Eli before. She offers several styles and has extended the collection to the whole family, with shirts like “Man Cub”, “Baby Bear”, “Daddy Bear”, and more. With so many styles, you’re bound to find a “Mama Bear” shirt that the mom in your life will love!

Mom Culture is another company offering mom shirts and other gear. They have fun sayings like “Raise Good Humans”, “Motherhood: Winging It”, and “Raising Tiny Humans is Exhausting” that you can find on t-shirts, coffee mugs, wine glasses, and more.

8.) A Pretty Plant- Instead of a bouquet of flowers, that although they won’t last are still a nice gift, try getting Mom a nice plant that she can either put indoors or plant in her garden. Think long-term, with something that lasts a while or a perennial that returns each year. Tulips and daffodils are beautiful flowers that if planted, will return each spring. Another option would be to get Mom a collection of herb plants that she could set in her windowsill.

9.) Good Reads- Has Mom been anticipating the release of a new book? Is there a magazine she loves and is always buying at the grocery store? Don’t hesitate to buy mom some good reads! Buy her that new book or get her a magazine subscription that she can enjoy again and again throughout the year. If Mom is a Fixer Upper fan, The Magnolia Journal is a good read each season and Joanna Gaines just released her new cookbook, Magnolia Table, both found at https://magnolia.com/.

10.) A Break- That’s right! Give Mom a break for Mother’s Day! Let her sleep in, cook breakfast, fold the laundry, do the dishes, and clean the house. Give mom a chance to relax and take some of the work off of her plate. Watch the kiddos and send her off to use that shopping gift card and/or that gift certificate to pamper herself. She’ll come back feeling refreshed and oh so thankful for the much needed break!

Whatever you choose to do for Mother’s Day, be sure to consider Mom’s likes, favorites, needs, and wants and know that she will appreciate that you were thinking of her. A BONUS gift idea: Sometimes spending time with mom is the gift she enjoys most! Don’t underestimate a quality visit with your mom! ❤ Wishing all you moms all the love and joy for Mother’s Day! ❤ Happy Mother’s Day!
