Hallway Christmas Vignette | A Mix of New and Old

It has become my most favorite thing to mix new and old in our decor at home and at the shop as well. Not only that, but seeking out vintage and antique pieces that really spark inspiration and nostalgia has become one of my most favorite things as well. I’ll find a stained old piece of art in a dirty old frame that’s falling apart and I’ll just know instantly that I HAVE to have it! And then Ted will look at me like I’m crazy and say, “Really!?” to which I’ll respond, “YES! Trust me… it’s perfect!”

This little vignette was really easy to pull together.. I had been planning on bringing this old falling apart cow picture home for some time, and when we decided to put this cabinet in the empty little corner of the hallway, I knew exactly what to put over it! I had this vintage wine jug sitting around and the Christmas trees were in my Christmas decor collection from years past. We have two sizes of little frosted green Christmas trees very similar to the one on the left in the shop right now. This adorable wooden rocking horse was a vintage find from the shop that I couldn’t resist bringing home and the vintage brass candlesticks are from my collection. I grabbed a few of the pine branches I had ordered for the shop, a Tree Farm by Vintage Porch Antique Candle Co candle (also from the shop), and one of these fluffy chenille chunky knit garlands I made for the shop to complete this cute little Christmas vignette.

Between DIYing decor, like the chunky knit garland, and hunting for vintage décor, like several of the items pictured, all I needed was a couple new items to really polish off the look. It’s now one of my favorite little spots in the house!

This little candle from Antique Candle Co is my favorite candle of the season! The scent is Tree Farm by Vintage Porch and it is a Christmas tree in a jar. So good! I brought one home to enjoy and we have the tarts burning at the shop, too.
