Autumn Sunroom 2020

This fall season I really enjoyed shopping our Charming North inventory as well as our own house and yard to add autumn touches throughout our home. We loaded the sunroom up with pillows and throws from the shop, some yummy fall candles, beautiful fall wreaths, some of our everyday pillows, books and magazines, crocks and pottery, some vintage art, a few pumpkins, and some fresh fall branches from our yard. We also did a little furniture rearranging and brought in a different area rug to cozy the space up and make it more functional for our family.

This space recently became another spot to watch movies, and since it’s a small space that serves multiple functions, I had to be careful about the space planning for this room. We keep most of our indoor plants in this room, so the sideboard against the front windows had to stay. Moving the antique trunk back to it’s previous spot as a coffee table created the perfect spot to store extra pillows and blankets and we moved the buffet down from the other end of the sunroom to serve as a TV stand, which also offers storage for movies, games, and TV accessories.

Aside from a morning coffee spot, a reading spot, a home for our indoor plants, and a movie room, the sunroom also serves as a guest room (the daybed has a pop-up trundle hiding underneath) and most recently a homeschool space (at the other end, which I’ll share on here soon), so keeping the space functional and pretty with concealed storage was the goal in this room.

You can find many of the items pictured as well as similar items in our shop, Charming North, in downtown Cadillac, Michigan. And don’t be afraid to shop your own home, pulling items from other rooms, and also using natural elements from outdoors such as clippings of fall leaves or florals and fresh pumpkins, apples, etc.

Wishing you all the best this fall season!
