Fall Home Tour | 2021-2022
It has been a little while since I have shared a seasonal home tour, so how about a cozy fall home tour for this beautiful fall Saturday? Since we have been so busy with the store and building this year, we’ve done a lot less decorating at home, so I’m sharing a fun collection of photos from this year and last for a little fall inspiration.
Fall Covered Porch
Last year, Ted built a roof over our front porch, making my covered porch dreams come true. Then, as the icing on the cake, we repurposed an old oak headboard and footboard into this dreamy swing for the front porch, and I was instantly in love. In the past, we had usually decorated the lower front door for fall, but with the addition of the now covered front porch, it made sense to decorate this space for fall instead. With some cozy blankets and pillows, a few pumpkins and mums, and a hot cup of coffee, this is the perfect outdoor space to enjoy the gorgeous autumn views.
From our store: The swing cushions (green/yellow pattern, green gingham reversible pillow, tan and brown plaid wool tartan blanket, fall truck with pumpkins throw pillow, pumpkins sign, front door wreath, green and white striped pillow, and more.
Fall Pops in the Living Room
In the living room, we kept things simple and subtle, using some natural elements from outdoors to accent our everyday décor and adding just a few little pumpkins. I mixed some dark moody colors and patterns with books, pillows, and other décor and I chose a moody vintage art piece for the TV with the art app we use, ArtHola. Some dark red maple branches and some branches from our weeping crabapple were the perfect natural elements to give a seasonal pop to our space. I love the bold contrasts and the pops of fall color tones in here.
A few honorable mention décor pieces that came from Charming North: the white and terra cotta vase on the coffee table, the vintage wooden bowl on the coffee table, the marble and wood coasters set, the concrete bust planter, most of the throw pillows on the sofa, several vintage treasures such as the brass candlesticks, and more.
Subtle Fall Touches in the Sunroom
Our simple and subtle theme carries over into the sunroom, with a soft neutral plaid wool tartan blanket, a cute fall pillow, and a small fall wreath. The colors in here stay fairly neutral all the time, making it easy to swap small details seasonally.
The diamond pattern jute rug is from the shop and it was the perfect little rug for this room. You can find a large selection of wool tartan blankets at Charming North from both the Tartan Blanket Co. and Pendleton’s washable wool blankets. Also from the shop are the green and white striped pillows.
Autumn Outdoors
The outdoors speaks for itself! We’re blessed with some gorgeous vibrant maples that really show off every fall. It’s a gorgeous sight, but it never stays long enough in my opinion. Here are a few pretty shots from around the greenhouse and yard.
I’m so grateful to live somewhere that we really get to experience the best of all four seasons. Northern Michigan is such a truly beautiful place, and I think it’s some of God’s best work, so we are so blessed to get to live here. 😉
As Halloween is coming up in just a few days, many will be looking to Christmas décor already while others hold off until after Thanksgiving. I’m always sad to see fall go, but the joy that comes with the Christmas season quickly remedies that, so I look forward to it. I’ll be holding on to every last second of fall while I can, but we’ll start our annual Christmas reset at the shop next week, so the transition will come soon! Stay tuned for some Christmas inspiration, both at home and the shop, coming soon!
